Day 29: Rented movie and Starbucks and flights home

Woke up around 9am, returned Rambo and rented Quantum of Solace. Grabbed a breakfast sandwich and coffee from Ono's steak sandwich (a place that I was interested in since Day 1; this was a good way to begin the end of our trip... trying one last thing that I've been wanting to try). Breakfast and a movie. Then packed and stored our luggage at the hotel lobby until our 4:15 pickup (hotel to airport). Drank the last Rockstar coffee that we had in our fridge while walking the International Marketplace. Then went to Starbucks for a coffee and some reading time before we had to take off. Got picked up from the hotel and was dropped off at the airport. Went through all the security practices... opened my backpack and luggage a few times... took my shoes, jacket, and belt off. Lunch at Burger King... Eventually got home.

Day 28: Ala Moana beach and mall

Today's our last full day in Hawaii!!

To commemorate this day... we slept in until noon (waste of a morning or true vacationing... you decide). Then headed off for the beach (we were planning to sit in Starbucks to drink coffee and check out Japanese chicks passing by the window, but ehh... we could do that back in LA... minus the checking out Japanese chicks).

It was an okay beach day, a little on the cloudy and windy side, but the sun poked out its head every now and again. Got a little swimming in, a little bit of reading, lots of music time, and lots of sunning time.

Then off to the mall for food. I ate at a Japanese bbq place in the food court. Went to Jamba Juice afterward for Gordon (blah to Jamba imo).

Just got back to the hotel and getting ready to pack. The cleaning lady was in here again... She didn't make the bed, I found the blanket folded and placed on the corner of the bed, I didn't have anything on the bed... there's no excuse for that (the old hotel always made the freaken bed). She also moved my stuff around and placed them in the space underneath the night stand. I'm assuming she moved it to vacuum, but she should've moved everything back to where she found them.

In short, I'm quite upset at the cleaning lady (mostly because of throwing away my shells). I'd rather her not come in at all. I'm quite tempted to make a mess before leaving. Grrrr.

Went out around 9-10pm to Jack in the Box for tacos, Starbucks, and rented Rambo. Back to the hotel for dinner and a movie.

Day 27: Flea market and Barnes and Noble and Don Quixote and Taco Bell

Gordon and I ended up going to Aloha Stadium for the flea market to do some last minute gift shopping. We walked the entire perimeter of the stadium and left when they started closing down at 3pm.

Then we got off at Ala Moana mall to grab lunch (Mc Donald's Big Mac meal... hell yeeeeeeeeea) and for me to buy a book (Orcs: Bad Blood) from Barnes and Noble so I won't be bored on the 6+ hours plane ride home.

Afterward, we went to Don Quixote to grab some more last minute gifts (and coffee Rock Star for myself).

I was pissed off when we got back to our hotel. The freaken cleaning lady threw away the shells that I got from Turtle beach!! They were laying on the night stand next to our bed. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Showered off at the hotel and lounged around until 10pm. Grabbed some tacos from Jack in the Box. Read a little bit before giving into sleep.

Day 26: Move to new hotel and collect shells from Turtle beach and watched Fast and Furious

No pictures at all today, sorry.

We moved out of our 2 stars hotel to a 1 star hotel because priceline only allowed us to book 21 consecutive days. Well be spending our last 3 nights at this 1 star place (which isn't too bad because it has wireless inroom internet and a microwave).

We got out stuff moved and ourselves checked out after 2 trips. Then it was breakfast (Ahi musubi from our last trip to Yama's fish market) and off to Northshore to collect sea shells from Turtle beach.

Came back starving, so ate Panda Express at the Ala Moana mall's food court. Went back to the hotel to shower and change. Then off to the movies with Gordon and Kalee.

We just missed the 10:10 showing, so we were going to try for the 10:45 one. Grabbed some Mc Donalds (Mc Chicken sandwich and large hazelnut iced coffee for me) along the way because Kalee hadn't eaten dinner yet. The 10:45 showing was sold out. We decided to wait for the 11:50 one. We ate our Mc Donalds and went into Dave and Buster to kill time. Gordon and Kalee had 2 drinks each; I had a can of Red Bull (I was really tired and was afraid I'd fall asleep in the middle of the movie if I had alcohol in my system, plus I was already pretty tired as I was). Just got back from the movie. I thought it was better than the third (but that's not saying much), but not as good as the first 2. I don't know, I felt like the plot was pretty simple and predictable. It just felt really short, like not much really happened. On the plus side, it was only $10 here in Oahu.

Day 25: Yama's fish market and burrito shop and Ala Moana beach

Today we went to Yama's fish market again to grab breakfast. I got a soda from there while Gordon bought breakfast. I grabbed breakfast from a nearby burrito shop.

Then it was a beach day at Ala Moana beach. The weather was great. The sun was out, the sky had moving clouds (alternating between sun and shade), and the water was moderately clear.

Turns out that my camera is completely dead after yesterday's snorkeling adventure. I took pictures today at Ala Moana beach, but nothing came out when i connected it to my laptop. The pictures below are from Gordon's camera (and he had his setting for super good quality... so each picture was about 4 megs each... shietty for uploading).

I'm pretty sure the there won't be much more pictures for the rest of this trip, and if there are, it'll be from Gordon's camera.

All of these pictures were taken on our walk back to the hotel after a few hours at Ala Moana beach. There was a school of fish in the canal. It was such an amazing sight! There were easily 500 fish, all very close to the surface (most of the ones at the "end of the group" had their dorsal side exposed to the air), and they stayed close to the bridge long enough for us to get some cool pictures.

Day 24: Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay

I was going for the tree, trying to show how windy it was today. Didn't come out as well as I'd hoped.

I'm surprised to be able to get a picture of both of us without using an LCD.

This was to get the waves crashing on the rocks near the horizon. Also didn't come out as well as I'd hoped.

Another surprising picture of us (neither of us are cut off).

Took the camera into the water again. Now the screen went from a few drops of water and having a lit, white screen to not lighting up at all. It's getting worst and worst, but I thought today's pictures came out pretty well (though my aim was pretty off, most of the targets were closer to the bottom of the screen). The water was cold (and it was a windy day), but clear.

Just the sea floor.

Nothing in this one either.
