Day 17: Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay and Denny's dinner

We began our day with a $1 breakfast, then waited in front of our hotel to be picked up to go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay (a popular snorkeling site). The shuttle was late... and ghetto looking.

See that giant yellow bus? Not our ride. We had the white van. It wasn't so bad at first, then the driver kept going to more and more hotels, cramming more and more people in until it was 4 to a row.

Even though it was a cramped ride, Gordon and I managed to have some fun practicing our Japanese pick-up lines, loudly saying "diamond" and "cheeseburger," and karaoking a little.

I go to the restroom and I give you guys the camera for 5 minutes and you guys take pictures of a filipina? Sigh.

Here's Gordon and I waiting at the top (after the $5 entrance fee) for the safety/educational video that all guests are forced to watch.

YAY!! We're here in the water. Everyone practiced in the shallow water at first, making sure we were all comfortable enough to do this.

Once again, underwater shots were hard to aim, but I think we got a few fishes on pictures (a lot more on videos, but I'll upload those later)

Hey, that's me! I think Mary was using the camera at this point. Gordon had it later on and he recorded some really nice videos.

A filipina underwater. I like this. One step closer to drowning (jk).

More underwater pictures, don't what the intended targets were.

That's me with a tube, lifevest, and watch.

Everyone was having fun even though it was colder than perfect.

Master cameraman Gordon having a good time.

The buddy system in action!

Lots of fishes in the reef (background was dull though)!

Group picture right before we headed off!! The shuttle ride back was just as fun (and a lot less cramped [seem like we left an asian family behind, hopefully they were moved to another shuttle]) with Gordon and me making comments and laughing to ourselves. We were dropped off at the hotel where we showered and rested until going out for dinner at Denny's (I had 2 sides of fruits [pineapple and papaya] and a coffee. The waitress was making fun of me for ordering such a small "meal" and Gordon was constantly pointing telling her that I was Japanese [as well as making other comments about me being Japanese]). We walked around the Waikiki area afterward, looking at street performer, trying to find somewhere that sold cheap tickets for luau, and taking random pictures. Then it was back to the hotel to end the night.

  2. Dude, your adventures are becoming more and more epic, niceeeee. Gordon was only telling the waitress the truth, unless... you're not Japanese, but I've known you for a while, pretty sure you're Japanese.
